Mr. Eze Tochi Isaac and Miss Rejoice Onymaechi, Ambassadors of the Nigeria Face of Hope (NFH) campaign against drugs and substance abuse by youths and teenagers have called on the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to increase funding of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Adding that the agency has a huge task to execute and needs adequate funding to achieve it, especially now that drug abuse and drug related cases are on the rise.
The NFH Ambassadors made the call on Friday while on a courtesy visit to the Area Commander of the NDLEA Warri Area Command, Danjuma Gambo Omolola CSN in his office. The Ambassadors who were in the company of the administrator of Hauz of Elnathan Initiative, Mr. Enaruke Peter, also presented a certificate of honour to the NDLEA boss during the visit and lamented the dilapidated nature of physical structure housing the NDLEA in Warri as well as lack of good working equipments.
While presenting the certificate of honour, Miss Onymaechi said, "I want to appreciate the Area Commander, Danjuma Gambo Omolola CSN, and present him the Face of Hope Certificate of Honour for his efforts and drive to ensure that drug abuse among young people is reduced and curbed. I want to, however, call on the President of the country, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly to increase the funding of the agency so that more can be done in stemming the unfortunate rise of drug abuse amongst youths and teenagers".

Earlier, Mr. Eze Tochi Isaac requested for the partnership of the agency in community based projects, where the agency is expected to campaign alongside the NFH team on the troubling effects of drug abuse among young persons. The Area Commander, who appreciated the good gesture and thanked the NFH Ambassadors for honouring him, assured the Ambassadors and the NGO of the partnership of his agency in creating awareness against drug abuse across the country.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Enaruke Peter said, "this great collaboration of the Agency is a wonderful development. We shall make effective use of this opportunity to the greater good of the society at large".
The Nigeria Face of Hope (NFH) campaign against drug abuse among young persons is sponored by the Hauz of Elnathan Initiative, a non-governmental organisation that advocate the participation of young persons in becoming society drivers of positive change, help enhance the campaign against drug abuse among youths and teenagers, be a mouthpiece in enhancing the development of young persons through capacity building, among others.
