Following a report in one of the national dailies in which the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Leo Ogor advised Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Isoko Federal Constituency to accept the February 23 National Assembly election result, Joel Joel-Onowakpo Thomas yesterday stated that not until INEC corrects the administrative error made in declaring the results, will he accept defeat or congratulate any fraudulent victory.
In a statement signed by his media Aide, Obah Sylva, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas stated that instead of giving answers to the issue raised in their press statement, Ogor asked us to accept defeat.
“Our issues are clear, over 41,000 eligible voters were denied the opportunity to choose who to represent them in Isoko Federal Constituency. We are yet to understand how a heavily rigged election with less than 11,000 winning margin can be termed a successful election, when there are over 41,000 votes that are outstanding”, said Joel-Onowakpo Thomas .
Joel-Onowakpo Thomas called on the Chairman of INEC and relevant authorities to investigate the abuse of law and bring the Returning Officers and all those involved in the heinous crime to book and be punished adequately, while they await for the abnormality to be corrected.
