According to a statement released yesterday in Oleh by its Spokesperson, Dr. Kingsley Oroh, the group said Oke Michael (Ph.D), a renowned unionist and human right activist is the new President while Mr. Paul Emumena Michael is the new Secretary of the organization after a rigorous electioneering exercise.
"It is on record that the past President of IMG, Comr. Sebastine Agbefe, an activist with towering capacity, successfully piloted the affairs of the organization and recorded many achievements that the entire Isoko people will remain grateful for.
"The coming days, however, are going to be a time for IMG under the leadership of Dr. Oke Michael to deploy all its arsenals to tackle the federal and state governments over incessant neglect of the Isoko nation despite her huge contributions to the treasury of the country.

"The bar of advocacy will rise; the agitation will be fierce; the government will be critically engaged and made to live up to the expectations of the Isoko people according to global best practices.
"It is very alarming and totally unacceptable that Isoko, being the second place where crude oil was discovered and one of the largest onshore producer of crude oil in Nigeria, will still be in total darkness, suffers bad road, lacks good healthcare facilities and denied of adequate government patronage.
"It is even more worrisome that the lifespan of our people is reduced daily as a result of environmental pollution caused by crude oil exploration and exploitation. This is most unfortunate.
IMG sees these as coordinated attacks and exploitation of the good people of Isoko nation. We shall continue to resist this man inhumanity to our people and ensure that the governments and IOCs that are operating on our land and benefiting criminally from our God-given blessing, do the right thing by making life worth the while for the Isoko people".
