NFH Ambassadors Honour HRM King Duku II

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Warri Area Command in collaboration with an NGO, Hauz of Elnathan Initiative has taken campaigns against Drug and Substance Abuse to Effurun-Otor in Delta State to sensitize the people of the region on the dangers of drug abuse. The initiative was birthed by the Nigerian Face of Hope (NFH) Ambassadors of the Hauz of Elnathan Initiative, Mr Tochi Isaac and Miss Rejoice Onyeachi.

Speaking during the seminar, which was held at the Palace of his His Royal Majesty, King Duku II, Rotarian Dr. Enemuadia Yovwino Duku II (JP), The Orovworere of Effurun-Otor Kingdom, Ughelli South LGA, Delta State, Mrs Adeosun Olabisi, Head of Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) department of the NDLEA, Delta State Area Command in company of Fagbemi Olushola, an operative of NDLEA, said that drugs and substance abuse has severe physiological and psychological effects on the human body. "Many people have gone mad, others have lost their lives while some have been rendered worthless", she said. Mrs. Olabisi admonished youths and teenagers to abstain from drug abuse, so that they can be useful to the society.

The initiators of the project, the Nigerian Face of Hope Ambassadors, Mr. Tochi Isaac and Miss Rejoice Onyeachi said the  seminar was designed to influence students and youths in the area from indulging in the act of drugs and substance abuse and also to rescue abusers from such destructive act. During the event, which held on the 27th of November, 2019, the NFH Ambassadors gave a certificate of honour to HRM King Duku II for his passionate and patriotic contributions toward youths development as well as his positive efforts to better the society. While appreciating the organisers of the event, King Duku II encouraged all youths, women and elderly to avoid hard drugs and charged them to adhere strictly to the professional advice given during the event. He also pledged his continuous support towards the initiative.

Earlier during his remark, Enaruke Peter, Director General and Project Administrator of Hauz of Elnathan Initiative, admonished the youths to stay away from all forms of negative influences that may lead them into abuse of hard drugs and substance. Adding that such bad associations has truncated a lot of promising destinies.

The Community Based Campaign is an arm of the "Save Tomorrow Project" of the Hauz of Elnathan Initiative, which was designed to take the campaign against drug abuse to all community in a bid to reduce the rising indulgence of youths and teenagers in drugs and substance abuse.
